FROM INSPIRATION
TO FRUITION

Sondial Construction And Development company began with the vision of Al Waters. In 1989, alongside his muse, wife and business partner, Sondi Moore-Waters, he bought 30 acres of Land that included two sparkling lakes in South Fulton, Georgia. At that time, in-home theaters, security systems and intercoms were unheard of in South Fulton and were considered high-end upgrades in affluent Atlanta communities. Al Waters wanted these luxuries to come standard.

In the face of unnecessary barriers and adversity, in 1995, Al Waters forged an impenetrable path to success, becoming Atlanta’s youngest Black developer. During his career, Al Waters ensured SCAD Co. eclipsed expectations. He was one of the first developers in Atlanta to eliminate wood decks from his portfolio, a shift that adds longevity and value to homes. Design elements like utilizing concrete tiles, matching backsplashes to countertops and veering away from the southern colonial style exteriors were posh choices that set him apart from other builders. Over four decades, his vision to create safe, sexy and tranquil living spaces elevated Atlanta’s upscale real estate market.
